"I've worked as an investment banker and interior designer before becoming an inventor and entrepreneur. Equipped with 2 degrees from Macquarie University Australia, I decided to return to the UK a few years ago.
I grew up with dogs and Bianca was my first dog in 1991, so I can look back on 30 years of dog experience! And with Millie and Bertie I also have 2 more or less voluntary test dogs at my disposal.
The idea for doddle for dogs came to me when I had a total of 3 dogs at the same time. With Bianca, Farah and Crummie it was very problematic to put them all on the lead at the same time. Especially with Crummie, as a wheaten terrier with slightly longer hair, it was almost impossible to find the D-ring on the collar to hook the carabiner on!
When we were out and about, it was almost impossible to get the almost exclusively free-roaming dogs on and off the lead. And then you always have to carry the three leads around with you. Three automatic leads were already a burden. That's why I came up with the idea of leaving the lead directly on the dog, without annoying carabiners or heavy plastic handles.
I quickly realised that carabiner-free leads were the solution for many dog owners. So the invention of a carabiner-free lead became my passion. A lead that you can't lose, forget or not find!
I quickly realised that the idea of a lead directly on the dog appealed to many dog owners, especially when they realised that walks were now so much easier and more enjoyable! Whether it's a long walk through the woods, across fields or along the river or sea, the doddle for dogs has so many advantages for dog lovers!
Having the idea was one thing, developing this idea together with my will to include a hand strap was a long and arduous journey that was definitely worth it! It was important to me that even in critical situations, for example when the dog tries to run away, masters and mistresses always have full control over their four-legged friend. The hand strap was therefore essential.
3 1/2 years of test runs and many prototypes later - the doddle for dogs always fulfilled my expectations during this time - the time had come: the collar with integrated dog lead, a 1 metre long automatic lead, was ready for the market. From now on, for all dog lovers worldwide: walks can be so easy!"
The logo shows Crummie, who was actively involved in the three-year development process. The product was finally presented in 2014 in the English show "Dragon's Den".
